Frequently Asked Questions about Muller Machine

FAQ index

What services are offered?

Why are my services so limited?

Concentrating on very specific services has allowed me to refine tooling and processes over the years that guarantees you will get the most precise case machine work available anywhere.

In a nutshell, you can get your cases blueprinted today, with greater precision and faster turnaround than any time in the last 34 years... at virtually the same dollar price that I charged in 1977! As a matter of fact, if you use the price of food, gasoline or wages as a comparison, my blueprinting services are cheaper now than ever in history! This has come about through ongoing and continual refinement of the tooling and processes used.

What engines do I work on?

Why does Muller Machine typically only deal with kart shops and engine builders

It usually makes more sense for me to work with established kart shops and engine builders. These are the people that are going to be consistent, repeat customers... and that is the type of business relationship that benefits everyone.

I generally "get to know" what a particular customer wants (it might be something as simple as which direction he wants main bearings installed, or could be something more involved like a specific case width he wants on every engine). This "understanding" (in both directions) can only be established through repeat business.

I value these long-term relationships with my customers, and enjoy being part of the process that allows an engine builder to provide very fast, high-quality engines for their customers.

That said; if someone is truly doing "their own engine work", I will typically do blueprinting for them. Feel free to call or email to discuss this if you have not done business with Muller Machine before, but would like to get established.

Why don't engine builders do their own case blueprinting?

Simple answer: It's less expensive and more accurate to use Muller Machine.

I blueprint engine cases - period. That's what I do, day in and day out. I've been doing it since 1977. That level of experience can not be duplicated by any engine builder or machine shop in the world. There are plenty of good shops and machinists that are completely capable of blueprinting a lower end... however after machining one or more sets of cases, they typically find they can send the cases to Muller Machine -- and get a better job for less money than it would cost them to do it themselves.

It might surprise many people that...

Woltjer Racing Engines
MCR Racing Engines
McGee Racing Engines
Emmick Enterprises
Haddock Ltd.
Collins Racing Engines
L.A.D. Specialties
Swedetech Racing Engines
Hi-Rev Engineering
Pitts Performance
Two-Cycle Technology
Precision Karting Products

...and many, many more -- all use Muller Machine for their case blueprinting.

These engine builders/shops have all come to the same conclusion:

The machine work is more precise and the cost is less when using Muller Machine.
