1987 Integra D16A1

The 1986/1987 USDM Integra came equipped with the brown valve cover D16A1. The D16A1 is the only DOHC D series engine to ever make it to the US. In stock form, the 86/87 D16A1 makes 113 hp...about 20hp more than the stock 1st gen CRX SOHC engine. The 86-87 D16A1 is virtually identical to the "brown top ZC" that blessed the 1st Generation JDM CRX Si. It will bolt directly into a 1st Gen USDM CRX Si very easily. This engine was sourced from the local Pick-N-Pull for $135 for the longblock.

It is never fun to work on a dirty grease-bomb roach engine, so I cleaned everything as I took it apart. I'm proud to say that I only relied on "safe" cleansers to do this (Simple Green at full strength and Castrol Super Cleaner).
